Dr. Dean Small
Dr. Small was born and raised in Ames, Iowa and has
practiced at Johnson County Animal Clinic since his graduation from the
Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972.
He has been practicing with Dr. Humphrey since 1983 and they opened a
second location, Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital in 1987.
Dr. Small and his wife, Paula, live on acreage and spend most of their free time
caring for their property and their dogs, Stewart and June Bug. He enjoys
traveling, especially to the Southwestern section of the United States and has an avid interest in Native American and Western history. He also has interests in landscape gardening, woodworking, astronomy and fishing, he has recently reduced his work schedule at both clinics to spend more time on his interests.
Dr. Small is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Jim Humphrey
Dr. Jim Humphrey graduated with honors in 1983 from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Humphrey was born and raised in the Kansas City area and is also an alumnus of Shawnee Mission North High School. He joined JCAC in the summer of 1983 and became a partner with Dr. Small in 1985 when they also opened Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital which is still a part of the practice in addition to JCAC.
Dr. Humphrey is a proud husband and father. He and his wife, Deb, have two grown sons and a daughter-in-law, Jacob, Jason, and Amanda. Most of his time away from practice is spent with his family enjoying a number of outdoor activities including camping, hiking, fishing, and snow skiing. The Humphreys currently have a cat named Hoot, as well as a dog, Corky. Dr. Humphrey is also actively involved in his church, and is a recreational runner.
Dr. Humphrey is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Richard Eberhardy
Dr. Richard
Eberhardy is a 1993 graduate of Kansas State University College of
Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Eberhardy joined the practice in 1998, becoming partners with Dr. Humphrey in 2007. Dr. Eberhardy was born and raised in the Kansas City area and currently makes his
home in Olathe Kansas, with his wife Lisa. They have two wonderful
daughters that keep them quite busy and very happy. They also share
their home with two entertaining cats, Pete and Tilley and are currently looking for a canine companion for the household. Outside of veterinary
duties, Dr. Eberhardy spends time coaching youth soccer,playing basketball, and enjoying a wide variety of family activities.
Dr. Eberhardy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association, Kansas Veterinary Association, Kansas City Veterinary
Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Chris Steele-Provonost
Chris Steele-Provonost has been with Johnson County
Animal Clinic since 1984. She started working at Johnson County Animal Clinic as a Veterinary Technician. Chris no longer does Technician work but now uses her skills as a Professional Groomer to provide grooming services for Johnson County Animal Clinic . Chris is married and both her and her husband have a love and passion for animals. They share their lives with two horses, two
goats, four dogs, and multiple cats. Chris was born in the area and
currently lives in Tonganoxie, Kansas
Stephanie Stour
Stephanie Stour has worked as a receptionist at Johnson County Animal Clinic for since 1997. She really enjoys “working with such a neat group of people”. She was born and has lived in the Kansas City area all of her life and is married and has a darling little girl named Olivia. Her family shares their home with her doberman and two horses. Stephanie loves to show and train dogs as well as spend time with the horses. She is a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of American and VP of the Greater Kansas City Doberman Pinscher Club.
Jill Hueser
Jill joined Johnson County Animal Clinic in 1995 as a
technician with a strong desire to help animals. Jill now oversees both
the Johnson County Animal Clinic and the Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital. Jill and her husband
reside in southern Johnson County with their three children and has two dogs named CJ, a Smooth Coated Collie and Ava, a Siberian Husky. In Jill's spare time she enjoys reading, relaxing, and spending time with her family.
Rose Amos
Rose Amos has worked at Johnson County Animal Clinic
since 2003. She was born in Lexington, Missouri and raised in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Rose shares her home in Lenexa with a wide variety of pets. She considers them all part of
the family. As with all of our staff, she treats the pets that visit our Clinic with the same care she gives her pets at home. Beyond caring for animals, she enjoys fishing,
rollerskating and biking. Her favorite pastime, however, is taking long walks with her dogs.
Stephanie Ogden
Steph “O” has been with Johnson County Animal Clinic since 2003, doing various positions in the office, but in the veterinary field for 7 years. Stephanie is married with 2 children, and 5 “pet” children. The newest addition was a Great Dane puppy fall of ’07, and “Vegas” is keeping the family on their toes. On her off time she loves going to the lake, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Kristina Love
Kristina is a Veterinary Technician and has been with JCAC since June 2006. She moved back to Kansas City after spending 3 and ˝ years in
Beaufort, South Carolina. There she worked with homeless
animals. Happy to be home,
she enjoys time with family and friends and her three furry adopted
children: Buster, Dixie, and Warren.
Jessica Collett
Jessica joined the Johnson County Animal Clinic family in June 2008. She grew
up in Plattsburg, Missouri and then went to college at Northwest
Missouri State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in
Animal Science. She now lives in Lenexa, where she shares her home with her husband, Mark,
and two dogs, Maggie and Robin. When not working, she spends her time
reading, watching movies, spending time with family, and catching up
with old friends.
Erik Palmer
Erik likes to
help out wherever he is needed, so you may see him in many roles. You
may find him greeting you and your pet at the front desk or answering
your phone call. He may assist one of the Veterinarians in your pet’s
treatment or check your pet’s weight and temperature before a physical
exam. Erik graduated from Maple Woods Community College with an
Associates degree in Applied Science for Veterinary Technology. After
graduation he worked as a Veterinary Technician at two different Animal
Hospitals, and also was an assistant manager for a pet store. He left
the animal health field for awhile to work for AT&T; he held many
positions at AT&T and stayed for 9 years. But, he missed the
rewarding work of helping pets and joined us at Johnson County Animal
Clinic in November of 2007.
Erik is
originally from California and that is where he developed his laid back
demeanor. He has lived most of his adult life in the Kansas City area.
He enjoys many activities outside of the clinic, such as volunteer
work. He has participated in fundraisers for local shelters like Art
Unleashed, Dog-N-Jog, and Dogtober Fest. He likes working out at the YMCA, watching
movies, photography and traveling. He has traveled to many different
cities in the United States and two of his favorite destinations are
San Diego, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He would like to travel around the world taking photographs and will, after he wins the Lottery. He also enjoys
spending time with his dogs, Pedro; a Border Collie mix, and Tigger; a
Dachshund.
Catherine Lillard
Catherine came to work for Johnson County Animal Clinic in July 2007 as a Veterinary assistant. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with the two loves of her life; her lhasa poo, Mr, Chubbins, and her Boston terrier, Boo.
Jana Davi-Dixon
Jana Davi-Dixon joined Johnson County Animal Clinic in July 2009. She has lived in the Kansas City area her entire life and currently lives in south Overland Park with her son and two cats: Chewbacca and Cleo. When not at work, she enjoys volunteering at a local exotic animal sanctuary, spending time with her family and friends, reading, movies, photography and scrapbooking.
Katie VanMol
Katie began working at Johnson County Animal Clinic in October of 2007. She was born and raised in Prairie Village, but now lives in Overland
Park. She loves spending time with her two furry children: Little Bit and Dookie. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books by
Christopher Moore and watching movies starring Robert De Niro.
