Dr. Dean Small
Dr. Small was born and raised in Ames, Iowa and has practiced at Johnson County Animal Clinic since his graduation from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972.

He has been practicing with Dr. Humphrey since 1983 and the two of them opened a second location at Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital in 1987.

Dr. Small's primary non-professional interests are his family and his home. He and his wife, Paula, live on acreage and spend most of their free time caring for the property and their pets. He enjoys traveling, especially to the West and Southwest and has an avid interest in Native American and Western history. He also has a casual interest in woodworking, astronomy and fishing.

Dr. Small is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.

Dr. Jim Humphrey
Dr. Jim Humphrey graduated with honors in 1983 from Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Humphrey was born and raised in the Kansas City area and is an alumni of Shawnee Mission North High School. He joined JCAC in the summer of 1983. Dr. Humphrey became a partner with Dr. Small in 1985 and they jointly opened Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital, which they still own and operate in addition to JCAC.

Dr. Humphrey is a proud husband and father. He and his wife, Deb, have two children, Jason and Jacob. Most of his time away from practice is spent with his family. They enjoy a number of outdoor activities including camping, hiking, fishing and snow skiing. The Humphrey family has a cat, Hoot, as well as a dog, Corky. Dr. Humphrey is also involved in his church, and is an active runner. Both Dr. H and Deb serve on the Shawnee Mission North High School Site Council.

Dr. Humphrey is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association

Dr. Richard Eberhardy
Dr. Richard Eberhardy is a 1993 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Eberhardy has been an important part of JCAC/LPAH since 1998. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Association, Kansas City Veterinary Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Eberhardy was born and raised in the Kansas City area and currently makes his home in Olathe Kansas, with his wife Lisa. They have two wonderful daughters that keep them quite busy and very happy. They also share their home with two new cats, Pete and Tilley. Outside of veterinary duties, Dr. Eberhardy spends time coaching youth soccer, participating in school counsel, and enjoying a variety of fun activities with his family.

Chris Steele-Provonost
Chris Steele-Provonost has been with Johnson County Animal Clinic since 1984. Most of those years she spent working as a veterinary technician. Recently Chris has been using her skills as a professional groomer. Chris is married and her husband shares her love and passion for animals. They share their lives with two horses, two goats, two dogs, and multiple cats. Chris was born in the area and currently lives in Tonganoxie, Kansas.

Diane Glassburn
Diane Glassburn was born and raised in up state New York, and spent her youth helping out on the family’s Polled Hereford farm. She attended New England Educational Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, graduating with a degree as a Veterinary Technician in 1974. After returning home to New York, she worked for an animal hospital that specialized in both large and small animals. In 1977, she married her high school sweetheart and moved to Kansas City where he attended college. Diane started her tenure at Johnson County Animal Clinic after that move. With some time off for her two children’s needs, she has worked for both Johnson County Animal Clinic and Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital for 28 years. Her family also includes two dogs, two cats that live with the family, and numerous strays that seem to be attracted to her home.

Stephanie Stour
Stephanie Stour has worked as a receptionist at Johnson County Animal Clinic for since 1997. She really enjoys “working with such a neat group of people”. She was born and has lived in the Kansas City area all of her life and is married and has a darling little girl named Olivia. Her family shares their home with her doberman and two horses. Stephanie loves to show and train dogs as well as spend time with the horses. She is a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of American and VP of the Greater Kansas City Doberman Pinscher Club.

Jill Hueser
Jill joined Johnson County Animal Clinic in 1995 as a technician with a strong love to help animals. Jill now oversees both the Johnson County office and the Leawood office. Jill and her husband reside in southern Johnson County with their two kids and at the current time only one indoor dog "CJ" a Smooth Coated Collie. In Jill's spare she enjoys reading, relaxing, and spending time with her family.

Rose Amos
Rose Amos has worked at Johnson County Animal Clinic since 2003. She was born in Lexington, MO and raised in Lee’s Summit. Rose shares her home in Lenexa with a wide variety of pets including several dogs, a cat, birds and ferrets. She considers them all part of the family. Beyond caring for animals, she enjoys fishing, rollerskating and biking. Her favorite pastime, however, is taking long walks with her dogs.

Stephanie Ogden
Steph “O” has been with Johnson County Animal Clinic since 2003, doing various positions in the office, but in the veterinary field for 7 years. Stephanie is married with 2 children, and 5 “pet” children. The newest addition was a Great Dane puppy fall of ’07, and “Vegas” is keeping the family on their toes. On her off time she loves going to the lake, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Kristina Love
Kristina is a veterinary technician and has been with JCAC since June 2006. She recently moved back to Kansas City after spending 3 an ½ years in Beaufort, South Carolina. There she worked with both owned and homeless animals, while her husband served in the military. Happy to be home, she enjoys time with family and friends and her five furry adopted children: Buster, Dixie, Kayla, Chester, and Warren.

Jessica Collett
Jessica Collett joined the Johnson County Animal Clinic family in June 2008. She grew up in Plattsburg, Missouri and then went to college at Northwest Missouri State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. After spending the past three years in Oklahoma, she is back in Kansas City where she shares her home with her husband, Mark, and two dogs, Maggie and Robin. When not working, she spends her time reading, watching movies, spending time with family, and catching up with old friends.

Sara
Sara is our Southern Belle. She was raised in the suburbs of Memphis, Tn. Please don’t take offense if she insists on calling you ma’am or sir. It is just the way she was raised! She moved to the KC area 9 years age. Although she just recently joined our team in May of 2008, Sara has worked in the Veterinary field for over 3 years. Though unmarried, she is the proud mom of two furkids, Kane and Phoebe, both Shar peis, or her “peibies” as she likes to call them! In her free time, Sara is actively involved in her church, serving in both the Special needs and International mission ministries. She is very excited for her mission trip to Germany this October. She also enjoys anything outdoors and has her advanced open water certification for scuba diving. Sara is one of the friendly faces and voices you will meet in our clinic. She has a huge heart for animals big and small, she loves them all!

Misty
Misty joined the JCAC family in June 2008. She recently moved to the Kansas City area from Portland, Oregon where she was born and raised. There she worked as a veterinary technician for over 10 years and volunteered her time to help control the feral cat population. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her husband and their three hound dogs, Molly Woo, Hunter and Abby.

Erik Palmer
Erik likes to help out wherever he is needed, so you may see him in many roles. You may find him greeting you and your pet at the front desk or answering your phone call. He may assist one of the Veterinarians in your pet’s treatment or check you pet’s weight and temperature before a physical exam. Erik graduated from Maple Woods Community College with an Associates degree in Applied Science for Veterinary Technology. After graduation he worked as a Veterinary Technician at two different Animal Hospitals, and also was an assistant manager for a pet store. He left the animal health field for awhile to work for AT&T; he held many positions at AT&T and stayed for 9 years. But, he missed the rewarding work of helping pet and joined us at Johnson County Animal Clinic in November of 2007.

Erik is originally from California and that is where he developed his laid back demeanor. He has lived most of his adult life in the Kansas City area. He enjoys many activities outside of the clinic, such as volunteer work. He has participated in fundraisers for local shelters like Art Unleashed and Dogtober Fest. He likes working out at the YMCA, watching movies, photography and traveling. He has traveled to many different cities in the United States and two of his favorite destinations are San Diego, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He would like to travel to Africa someday and participate in a photo safari. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs, Pedro; a Border Collie mix, Tigger; a Dachshund and Lennox; a Boxer mix.
