Breed of the Month
Welcome to our Breed of the Month section! Each month, we will be featuring a new breed of dog and cat, complete with pictures and profile.
April Cat: American Curl
The American Curl is best known for its unique curled ears, which are the result of a spontaneous mutation. The ears are erect and open; curling away from the cat's face in a graceful arc as opposed to the Scottish Fold's which fold forward and downward. The ears give the breed an alert and happy appearance.

April Dog: Miniature Schnauzer
The Schnauzer is of German origin, said to be recognizable in pictures of the 15th century. The Miniature Schnauzer is derived from the Standard Schnauzer and is said to have come from mixing of Affenpinschers and Poodles with small Standards. The Miniature Schnauzer was exhibited as a distinct breed as early as 1899.
